Explain expectations about own work role as expressed in relevant standards? Explain the importance of reflective practice in continuously improving the quality of service provided? Describe how own values, belief systems and experiences may affect working practice? Evaluate your own knowledge, performance and understanding against relevant standards? Why should you think 'Could I have done anything differently?' or 'What went well and what could have been better?' or 'What can I do to improve my practice?'? We all have our own values (how important we think something is eg honesty - very important, quite important, not important), belief systems (religious beliefs, cultural norms etc) and experiences (our background and upbringing, events that affect the way we think etc). Not everyone sees things as we do and we might not agree with others. How might this affect your role as a carer? Use the Essential Standards for this (Outcome 12). How has any training, meetings, shadowing of other staff, articles you have read, new experiences etc affected how you work? What did you learn from it? What do you do differently?
