DONT KNOW HOW TO ANSWER THESE QUESTIONS

1.Explain the importance of monitoring the food and drink an individual comsumes and any diffculties they encounter.

2.Explain why it is important to be sure an individual has chosen to finish eating and drinking before clearing away? how can you promote active participation when doing this?

3. Explain how you support individuals to make themselves clean and tidy after eating and drinking.

Hi tania11,

1. Think about providing a balanced diet, noticing changes that might highlight health issues eg loss of appetite, difficulty swallowing, excessive thirst (diabetes) etc.

2. How would you feel if a waiter whipped your meal away before you had finished? Also the individual may just be slow but still hungry. Wait until they tell you they have finished or you could ask them.

3. Ask them, offer to help, provide the resources they need.

Hope that helps

Aunty Sue
