Hi spicechild,

How might being treated as an individual, being shown dignity and respect, being given choices, and good communication support the well-being ie spiritual, emotional, social, physical, mental etc needs of individuals.

Give examples using your own service users.

Hope that helps

Hi spicechild,

Being treated as an individual can make a service user feel important and this can increase their self esteem. Being given choices involves the individual in their care rather than them being passive recipients. It encourages them to think about what they really want and encourages mental effort. Good communication supports understanding between the carer and the service user. It provides a basis for appropriate care which in turn is good for the service user's well being.

That sort of thing.

Hope that helps
