Hi Strawberry888,

The individual has the right to take risks and you must respect this but you also have a duty to do all that is reasonable to keep them safe. This causes a dilemma.

Think about a diabetic who insists on eating the wrong food or an individual who doesn't want to use her walking frame etc.

Look at your setting's complaints procedure and explain it.
