Hello again, I'm really struggling on 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3 on the above unit.

Could you please give me any information or help on this as it is driving me crackers.

Thank you

Scoobydoo.

Hi scoobydoo,

1.1 Why is it important to think about all of an individuals care needs when assessing and planning? For example you might decide that they have a need for support to get into a bath. This would be a physical need but you should also consider other needs eg emotional - how they might feel about such personal support and how you can help them to deal with this.

1.2 Person centred care means that the individual should be the one to lead any discussion about what they want and how it will be provided. How do you support them to do this? Do you provide them with information so that they understand what will be discussed? Do you encourage them to speak up and say what they want? and so on.

1.3 Examples - clear, simple language with no jargon, Braille, pictures etc. See here also:

Hope that helps
