Can anyone give me a few pointers to what i need to write for;

Explain how legislation, frameworks, codes of practice and policies relating to positive behaviour support are applied to own working practice?

Identify the proactive and reactive strategies that are used within own work role?

Explain the importance of identifying patterns of behaviour or triggers to challenging behaviour when establishing proactive and reactive strategies
to be used?

Thanks xx

Hi Strawberry888,

The Human Rights Act, the Disability Discrimination Act, the Race Relations Act and the Mental Capacity Act etc inform us of the rights of individuals and tell us what we must/must not do.

Codes of Practice such as the Code of Practice for Social Care Workers, Guidance on restrictive physical interventions for people with learning disability and autistic spectrum disorder, in health, education and social care settings ( see here: http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsandstatistics/Lettersandcirculars/Dearcolleagueletters/DH_4015317 ) and frameworks such as the BILD Code of Practice for the use and reduction of restrictive physical intervention also give use guidance on how to respond to difficult behaviour and promote positive behaviour.

Explain how you come to recognise events/situations/behaviours that lead to difficult behaviour and how you use this knowledge to stop/avoid escalation (proactive strategies). Also explain how you react/respond to  difficult behaviour when it occurs (reactive strategies)

Why is it important to know what triggers behaviour in each individual when using the above strategies?

Hope that helps
