Please help suffered all the way through this unit!   Evaluate the effectiveness of proactive strategies on mitigating challenging behaviours.  Please Please help, really am stuck thank you Sad

Hi ShellKittie2,

Proactive strategies are what you use to avoid difficult behaviour. For example, you observe what leads up to it so that you can avoid it, remove it or the individual or distract the individual. It may also be that the individual displays certain behaviours such as hand wringing or shaking so that you can use calming methods suitable to the individual to prevent escalation.

Reactive strategies are also mentioned but these only come into play once the difficult behaviour has begun ie you react to it.
