Hi Aunty Sue,
I am new here.
I would like further explanation on what it means to identify specialist services relating to communication technology and aids, please?
Is it specifying the different types of communications technology and aids (eg: hearing aids, cochlear implant)? or is there a specialist service body/organisation one goes to to get help from the question is asking?
Thank you.

Hi tulsemere,

It means the specialist services that provide communication aids and training services.

See these examples:

http://www.ace-centre.org.uk/index.cfm?pageid=DB6B5FE3-3048-7290-FE18A6FAEAF27C9B

http://www.abilitynet.org.uk/content/factsheets/pdfs/Communication%20Aids.pdf

http://www.scope.org.uk/help-and-information/communication

Local Authorities can also arrange for assessments and possibly funding.

Hope that helps

Aunty Sue
