hello, please help on this direction.

1) how would you support the individual to express their views about the support they are having in icrreasing independence in daily living tasks?

2) how could you adapt the support in ways that would address concerns and chnges?

Hi Alice!
1. Supporting the individual to express their views about the support they are receiving means including them and/or their advocates/family/friends in care review meetings.  Think about a service user you support and explain in your account how you review their care needs and who is involved in this process (including where the information is recorded).  It means listening carefully, explaining any risks to them so that they can make informed choices about the care and support they receive from you also. Services which support people with learning disabilities use pictures within their care plans to try and improve the individual's understanding of what is going on.  Ensuring you use the person's preferred method of communication also helps understanding and supports the person to state their feelings/opinion.
2. Adapting support can mean re-assessing risks and recording them and passing them on verbally.  It may also mean including them in debates about any intended changes to their support needs. Again, try and explain this in an account which relates to an experience you have had supporting an individual who required changes to their support needs so that you link the theory to your practice!
