Hi
Where in the Safe Custody legislation does it mention Schedule 4 controlled drugs are exempt from safe custody. (I can see Schedule 1 drugs exempt, some from schedule 3 exempt but nothing regarding schedule 4).
Thanks for your time

Hi there! I found reference to Schedule 4 when I googled Misuse of Drugs Regulations 2001 - it brings you to the government website 'legislation.gov.uk' and a table of contents which has several references to Schedule 4. Hope this is what you were looking for!

Hi - not really what I was after unfortunately:(
It is related to the Misuse of Drugs (Safe Custody) Regulations 1973. Some controlled drugs from Schedules 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 need to be stored in a locked cabinet by law. I was trying to make sense of where in the legislation it says that schedule 4 drugs don't need be stored in a locked cabinet. Must be somewhere!
But thanks - if you see anything let me know!

At last, sorted. The legislation was amended in the 80's making it explicit that schedule 4 and 5 were exempt from safe custody. Happy days!

Oh brilliant - it is really confusing when they make amendments and alterations to laws and legislation - glad you found what you needed!
