Hello

A client is rude and verbally abusive to staff and other clients in a residential home. Some staff members are declining to provide a service to this client.  Are staff right to do this?  Give reasons, please.  Are staff allowed to pick and choose which clients they want to work with?  Does this put less favoured clients at risk of neglect?

In a hospital inpatient ward, staff are obliged to provide a service to rude and verbally abusive patients. Why?

Many thanks.
