Hi tess 36,

3b. Think about providing pen and paper, access to a phone, interpreters, information written in the individuals own language.... that sort of thing.

9a. Why would you want someone to focus on you when you are communicating? What might happen if you haven't listened to exactly what the individual is saying? If a colleague or key person is interrupting the individual who should you be listening to? If an individual is saying one thing but their body language is saying something else how will you know if you are not focusing on them?

9h Examples - Mr X has an ear infection an can't hear very well so you make sure you face him when speaking so that he can read your lips and you use more body language. Mrs A is usually happy and enjoys joking with you but she has just lost a close friend so you use more subdued communication.

Try using some real examples of your own.

Hope that helps
