hi aunty sue  Smiley this unit is proving to be a bit of a struggle! Can you give me any guidance to answering these questions? Thank you!!

1. list local and national systems that are designed to support personalisation
2. describe the impact that personalisation has on the process of commissioning social care
3. explain how direct payments and individual budgets support personalisation.

Hi glitterbug,

1 Think about direct payments, personal budgets, multi-agency working, Local Authority commissioning of services, person centred planning etc.

2 In the past services were commissioned as blocks of care that individuals could choose from ie one size suits all. With personalisation Local Authorities must listen to what each individual wants so blocks of care are no longer suitable. For example in the past a social activity would be at a day centre whereas now the individual might choose to go to the pub.

3 See these:

Hope that helps

Aunty Sue
