Legislation and policies for a person with a learning disability include The Human Rights Act; The Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards (which sits under the 'umbrella' of the Mental Capacity Act), the Equalities Act and the Health and Social Care Act (which lead to the Essential Standards of Quality and Safety against which care providers are inspected).  Policies will relate to your work place policies and procedures - check in your policy manual to see what policies support the equal rights of the person you support.  All such legislation and policies are designed to ensure careworkers put the person/s they are supporting at the centre of care planning and support and this has obvious benefits for the individual with a learning disability because it means they can live their lives to their full potential - it can reassure their families that everything is being done to allow their loved one to live their lives fully, in the least restricted way.  If you can think of an instance to illustrate when you have supported someone to live their lives fully (taking them out; introducing them to a new experience etc) that will add a lot of weight to your answer.

They influence day to day life of people with ld as they set the foundation of law and ensure that they have the same rights as everybody else.
